All Night - Chance the Rapper/Knox Fortunes

An often overlooked gem from Chance's recent (and incredible) LP Coloring Book, All Night is surely his most club-ready jam to date.

Always - Tor Miller

In spite of the risk of making this blog appear to be a Tor Miller fan club, I've decided to include the second Tor Miller song, in a week, as track of the day because Always, taken from the American singers upcoming album American English, is so undeniably brilliant. From the rabid anticipation as the verses ascend to the chorus (which is a belter by the way) to the emotional bridge, this is surely Tor's best and most commercial-sounding track yet (yes, I know I did say that a few days ago).

Chief Don't Run - Jidenna

A victorious, militant track from Jidenna, with the kind of ferocity we have come to expect from him. Although the chorus might be less catchy than the Fancy-sampling Classic Man or the beat less fierce than the epic Long Live The Chief, the track is still a triumph by anyone's standards.

1000x - Jarryd James feat. Broods

A mellow ballad with pulsating harmonies and a killer chorus, 1000x is yet another high caliber song from the two promising Oceanian bands.

Sometimes the best reviews are the most short and succinct...

Surrender - Tor Miller

Epic chorus. Epic string sections. Epic vocals. This is an epic song.

Thinking of You - Mabel

A sprightly, summery piece of r&b, Thinking of You is a worthy addition to Mabel's already formidable discography.

She Don't - Ella Mai featuring Ty Dolla $ign

The slick, fast-paced production, courtesy of DJ Mustard, and Ty Dolla's soulful verse would be enough to make She Don't a track that stands out from the crowd. However, thanks to Ella Mai's unashamedly brutal cussing, much in the vein of Big Sean in IDFWU, a good song is turned into a great one. This Londoner is definitely an individual worth following.

A Better Word - Josef Salvat

One of Salvat's more conventional songs from his stunning debut Night Swim, the intensity and impact of the piano ballad A Better Word comes wholly from its mellow simplicity. Perhaps a potential song to mourn the end of summer (if that's what you're in to)?

These Days - Samuel

A breathy piece of perfect synthy pop, the dulcet tones of Samuel's voice and the oriental-esque percussion make These Days a must have for a lazy summer afternoon.
